Located just off campus at 57th and Woodlawn, Hyde Park School of Dance (HPSD) offers adult classes in a wide range of styles, including ballet, modern, hip hop, tap, Pilates, and West African. As a nonprofit named Chicago’s Best Dance Studio or Training Program by the Chicago Reader in 2021, 2022, and 2024, HPSD provides high-quality instruction in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

  • Most adult classes are available as drop-ins ($22) or in short sessions (6 to 9 weeks).

  • University of Chicago undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for discounts on session classes with a valid student ID.
