Located right next to the UChicago campus at 57th and Woodlawn, Hyde Park School of Dance welcomes students of all ages whether they are interested in dance as a career or for exercise and recreation. Described as a hidden gem and Chicago Reader's Best of Chicago, Best Dance Studio or Training Program, in 2021 and 2022, this non-profit dance school provides training in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, African dance, AcroDance, and tap for dancers ages 18 months - 18 years. Classes are also offered for beginner and intermediate adult students in ballet, modern, tap, Pilates, African dance, bellydance, and Steppin'. All adult eligible classes are offered on a drop-in basis for $22 per class or an 8-week session, that is, 8 consecutive weekly classes for a specific class (except for Adult/Teen Ballet Foundations, which is not drop-in eligible). Discounts are available on 8-week sessions for all undergrad and grad students with ID, see website for pricing details.

Advanced level ballet classes are open to dancers 18 & up with Artistic Team permission.

Bellydance and Steppin' are HPSD Community Partner classes sold separately.
