For more than 25 years, Writers Theatre has captivated Chicagoland audiences with inventive interpretations of classic work, a bold approach to contemporary theatre, and a dedication to creating the most intimate theatrical experience possible. In February 2016, Writers Theatre opened a new, state-of-the-art facility. This established the company's first permanent home—a new theatre center in downtown Glencoe. The new facility has allowed the Theatre to continue to grow to accommodate its audience while maintaining its trademark intimacy.

Writers Theatre offers a student discount for all students enrolled at any accredited college or university across the country. Things to know:

• Students can access this discount by entering the promo code “STUDENT” before selecting their seats on the seat map.

• For the final show of the 2024/2025 season, Dhaba on Devon Avenue, the promo code offers $20 tickets.

• For all productions in the 2025/2026 season — beginning with Hershey Felder’s Rachmaninoff and the Tsar in August and continuing through all the subsequent shows — the promo code will offer $25 tickets.

• One discounted ticket per valid student ID and students must be able to present their student ID upon request.
