LINCOLN PARK

Located on the North Side of Chicago right by the lake, Lincoln Park is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of opportunities to engage with arts and culture. Explore the area’s numerous arts organizations along with the rest of the neighborhood!

  1. Taking the Red Line, Brown Line, or the Purple Line CTA train and getting off at Fullerton will get you to Lincoln Park.

  2. Once in Lincoln Park, check out the Lincoln Park Zoo (2001 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614) if you’re interested. It’s one of the oldest zoos in the country, and one of the few free ones! The zoo usually opens at 10 am if you want to get there early to visit the wildlife. The zoo also sometimes holds special events like Zoolights, where you can go see holiday-themed light displays during winter.

  3. While you’re in Lincoln Park, check out the Chicago History Museum (1601 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614), a museum all about Chicago’s history, from hundreds of years ago to the present day. The mission of the Chicago History Museum is to share Chicago’s stories, serving as a hub of scholarship and learning, inspiration, and civic engagement. UChicago students pay $17 with ID for admission.

  4. There’s plenty of good food in Hyde Park for those who want to grab a bite. One great place is the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company (2121 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614), serving pizza pot pies and Italian sandwiches.

  5. The Depaul Art Museum (935 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL 60614) is a lovely art museum you can visit in Lincoln Park. They have six temporary exhibitions during the year and have a large permanent collection of works, particularly international modern and contemporary art.

  6. Want to jam out to some great tunes> Lincoln Hall (2424 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614) is a historic music venue right in Lincoln Park showcasing different musical artists and groups from a variety of genres.
